What we request & why
We only request access to your Google email address and basic profile information to identify you and personalize your experience. We do not request access to your contacts, calendar, files, or any other Google services beyond authentication.

Limited Use — strictly enforced
Anomaly Intelligence Lab's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Your Google account data is used solely for authentication and is not sold, licensed, or shared with third parties.

Secure HTTP-only cookies only
We use NextAuth.js for session management. Your session token is stored as a secure HTTP-only cookie and expires after inactivity. We do not store plain-text passwords — all authentication is handled through OAuth providers.
Field Data & Sightings
Your reports, your operator ID
Sighting reports you submit become part of the Gateway Observatory research archive. Submissions include user-provided location data, timestamps, and descriptions. Your operator ID is attached to submissions but your personal email is never publicly displayed.
Analytics & Telemetry
Anonymized — never sold
We may collect anonymized usage analytics to improve the platform — such as page visit counts and feature usage. This data contains no personally identifiable information and is never sold to advertisers.
Data Retention
Deletion within 30 days on request
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting human@anomalyintelligencelab.com. Account data is deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request. Sighting contributions may be retained in anonymized form as part of the scientific archive.
